Chair of Patient Voice Initiative and Cystic Fibrosis Advocate

Jessica Bean is a medicine access advocate, international speaker, consultant and empowerment coach for young women living with chronic illness.

Jessica was born with cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that damages the lungs, digestive tract and other organs.  At 21, Jessica was told she would need a double lung transplant to survive but she fought hard to change her trajectory. Over a decade later, Jessica continues to breathe through her own lungs and live a life beyond her diagnosis.

Jessica is President and Secretary of Patient Voice Initiative, a collaboration between patients, health consumers, researchers and industry working towards improving the patient voice in the Australian health system.
